  • Red Rock Canyon – One of the greatest day trips from Vegas, this scenic drive takes you throughout the Canyon and features the area’s highlights.

  • Muddy Mountains – Horseback riding and hiking are some of the best things to do in the Muddy Mountain Wilderness Area.

  • Lee Canyon – Just 30 minutes away from the Strip, Lee Canyon has over 20 different ski trails, plus sledding and tubing.

Nevada has more hot springs than any other state in the United States. Here are some of the best places to soak:

  • Arizona Hot Springs – Visit a three-tiered hot spring, only 30 minutes away from Las Vegas. Go at night for the best chance of avoiding crowds.
  • Gold Strike Hot Springs – The four-mile hike to these hot springs is notoriously challenging, but the result is very rewarding.
  • Spencer Hot Springs – These springs are easily found, and the views are superb while you are there.
  • Fish Lake Valley Hot Springs – Complete with fire pits and natural pools, Fish Lake Valley is very popular, so plan to meet new people.
  • Carson Hot Springs Resort – With 10 private soaking rooms, you are guaranteed privacy. You can also control the water temperature and warm up by the fire pits.

The Nevada desert has harsh winters and summers. However, there are still reasons to visit at any point in the year:
