Packing for one country is stressful enough. But a trip exploring multiple countries across Europe? Overwhelming.
I’ve been to Europe several times, traveling everywhere from Denmark to Portugal and Slovakia. I’ve made my fair share of packing mistakes, and I wrote this Europe packing list to help you avoid them.
Below, I’ve listed everything you could possibly need. From basic travel essentials to clothing items and things you never would have thought of. This comprehensive guide covers it all, so you don’t forget a thing.

Adapter
EPICKA Universal Travel Adapter
This adapter will work with outlets across Europe, as well as other countries around the world.
An adapter is a must for traveling to Europe, and this EPICKA Universal Travel Adapter is my favorite one I’ve tried. It works with outlets across mainland Europe as well as the UK and Ireland. It includes USB and USB-C ports as well as an AC socket. You can charge multiple devices at the same time, too.
When you’re done traveling in Europe, just keep it handy for your next trip. Because this adapter works in over 200 countries.
Portable Charger
myCharge Portable Charger
This portable charger has quick-charging capabilities and attached cords for simplicity.
There’s a gazillion portable chargers out there. And not all are created equal. But the bottom line is this: you’ll need one for traveling in Europe. It’s important that you keep your devices charged for safety as well as directions, photos, and more.
I love the myCharge Portable Charger. It comes with attached iPhone and USB cords, and you can plug the charger right into the wall (with your adapter, of course) when you need it recharged. When it comes to travel, simplicity and practicality like this are the name of the game.
Crossbody Bag
BAGGU Medium Nylon Crescent Bag
This comfortable, versatile crossbody bag can fit a lot, and is perfect for everyday adventures.
A crossbody bag is a must in Europe. The BAGGU Medium Nylon Crescent Bag is one that I personally use and love. It’s a great everyday bag for at home, but also for travel. The wide strap makes it comfortable to carry, and the material is durable.
The best part is that it can fit a lot. In addition to normal purse essentials, you can also fit things like an umbrella, water bottle, or light sweater if it packs up small. It’s the perfect bag for daily outings. And, it comes in plenty of fun colors.

Daypack
Osprey Daylite Expandable Travel Pack
This smartly designed backpack is perfect for day trips and long travel days.
Europe is one of the best places to enjoy day trips. And the one day trip essential I recommend? A good daypack. Traveling light is always a good idea, but some day trips require you to bring a few extras. Like a water bottle, swimsuit, jacket, etc.
The Osprey Daylite Expandable Travel Pack is a favorite at Travel Lemming. It’s comfortable on your shoulders and has a flexible capacity so you can carry whatever you need without worry. Plus, it’s lightweight, durable, and has plenty of pockets for organization.
Water Bottle
Dopper Water Bottle
Lightweight, easy to clean, and versatile — this is my go-to water bottle for travel.
I’ve mentioned the Dopper Water Bottle in a few other Travel Lemming posts. But that’s because it’s my personal favorite water bottle for travel. I love how lightweight and slim it is. I can easily fit it in a crossbody bag without it weighing too much.
It’s also easy to clean and has a cool design where it can be used as a carafe with a cup. This is perfect for sharing drinks with friends or using the cup to brush your teeth. There’s an insulated version of the Dopper as well.
Toiletry Bag
D&D Hanging Travel Toiletry Bag
Keep all your essentials organized and make getting ready a breeze with this hanging toiletry bag.
Organization is key when you’re on the go in Europe. You want to spend more time out and about, not being frustrated while you get ready. An organized and practical toiletry bag is key for keeping everything in one place without your products and items becoming an absolute disaster.
I like the D&D Hanging Travel Toiletry Bag because it’s affordable and comes with all the features you need. It has a hanging hook, it’s water resistant, and there are 10 organized compartments for storing everything you need.
Noise-Cancelling Headphones
Sony WH-1000XM4 Wireless Noise Canceling Overhead Headphones
Relax and stay entertained on long plane, train, and bus rides with a good pair of headphones.
As much fun as traveling in Europe is, the long plane, train, and bus rides to and between places can be a drag. That’s why I always bring a pair of noise-canceling headphones. They’re handy for listening to music, podcasts, and watching shows, but also to block out noise from plane jets, rails, or traffic.
The Sony Noise Canceling Overhead Headphones are ideal. They’re comfortable to wear, fold up to be more compact and easy to pack, and the sound quality is great. The battery life is good, too. You can enjoy up to 30 hours of use.
Neck Pillow
trtl Pillow
This is Travel Lemming’s favorite travel pillow for its supportive and lightweight design.
The last thing you want is to arrive in Paris, Rome, Copenhagen or anywhere else in Europe with a sleepless headache or kink in your neck. Sleep is important, but it’s extra important when you travel. Shorter distances in Europe makes travel seem easy, but the stop and start of it all can be tiring.
Do yourself a favor and pack the trtl Pillow. It provides good support by keeping your head upright while you sleep, and it’s soft to the touch. I also love that the pillow folds up small in its carrying case. No need to carry around a bulky pillow!
Packing Cubes
Well Traveled Compression Packing Cubes
Travel like a pro with this versatile set of compression packing cubes that come in different sizes.
Packing cubes are a traveler’s best friend, and you’ll want your best friend with you in Europe. Just like you’ll need an organized toiletry bag, you’ll need an organized suitcase, too. That’s where the Well Traveled Compression Packing Cubes come in.
This set of packing cubes comes in different sizes. Plus, the cubes are compressible, which will help you save space. It has everything you need to pack and organize your tops, bottoms, undergarments, and more.
E-Reader
Amazon Kindle 16 GB
An Amazon Kindle should be on every reader’s list of travel essentials.
There’s nothing like reading a good book on vacation. But it’s no fun to lug around multiple books. If you’re a big reader, consider getting an Amazon Kindle. It’s lightweight, compact, and can hold thousands of books. Plus, you can read for up to six weeks on a single charge.
Quick Dry Towel
Rainleaf Microfiber Towel
Bring this lightweight, easy to pack towel so you can enjoy water activities anywhere.
Is swimming on your itinerary? Whether you’re planning on visiting popular beaches in Spain or traversing off the beaten path to Alpine lakes, you’ll want a towel to dry off.
I always pack a quick-dry towel like this Rainleaf Microfiber Towel when I’m headed to Europe. It’s thin enough to pack in your suitcase or daypack, it gets the job done, and it dries quickly, so you don’t have to carry around a wet towel.
Reusable Bag
BAGGU Big Set of 2
Save yourself the cash and inconvenience of plastic bags by carrying these cool, surprisingly spacious reusable bags.
Many places in Europe have plastic bag fees. Avoid paying extra and be an eco-conscious traveler by simply packing a couple of reusable bags with you. They’re handy for shopping as well as small grocery runs.
I love my BAGGU reusable bags. I always keep one inside my purse at home and while traveling. The bag itself folds up super small in the pouch it comes in, and it can hold a ton, despite being lightweight and thin. I also love the unique colors and designs available.
First Aid Kit
Mini First Aid Kit
With this compact yet comprehensive first aid kit, you’ll always be prepared for minor injuries.
A first aid kit is a no brainer. No matter how careful you are, incidents can always happen. And it’s better to be prepared if it does. This Mini First Aid Kit is filled with all the essentials you’ll need for minor cuts, scrapes, bumps, and bruises. It includes everything from bandaids and antiseptic wipes to gauze and burn gel. Plus, the whole thing is pretty compact.
Basic Medications
Travel Essentials Medicine Variety Pack
This versatile medicine pack has everything you need for basic illnesses.
If you wake up with a headache or suddenly come down with a cold, the last thing you want to do is get out of bed and walk to a pharmacy to ask for medicine in another language. Cut out the hassle — just in case — and bring some basic medications with you.
This Travel Essentials Medicine Variety Pack has everything you need for basic sickness. It includes things like Pepto Bismol and Advil, as well as other medications for allergies, motion sickness, and more.
Sleep Mask
Mavogel Cotton Sleep Eye Mask
Get great sleep anywhere with this soft, breathable, light-blocking eye mask.
Although it’s fun to stay in new hotels, rentals, or hostels, it can also take a toll on your sleep. I’ve stayed in my fair share of places where light still streams through the windows or hostel roommates open the windows at 6 am.
Ensure you always get good sleep by packing a mask like this Mavogel Cotton Sleep Eye Mask. In addition to being light-blocking, the material is soft and cotton with an adjustable strap, so you’ll be comfy all night long.
Ear Plugs
LYSIAN Ultra Soft Foam Earplugs
Loud accommodations? No problem. Pack some soft earplugs like these for a restful night’s sleep.
Jumping off my last point, it’s a good idea to bring some ear plugs to Europe if you’re a light sleeper. You never know what the sound situation might be at your accommodation, and it’s better to be prepared.
These LYSIAN Ultra Soft Foam Earplugs are super soft, skin-friendly, and will help reduce unwanted noise while you try to sleep.
Soap Leaves
HongyiTime Hand Washing Soap Sheets
This tiny pack of soap leaves allows you to wash your hands anywhere.
Hand sanitizer is a life saver, but sometimes you just need to wash your hands. Whether you find a public bathroom out of soap or you’re out in nature, these HongyiTime Hand Washing Soap Sheets can seriously come in handy. Mix one little soap sheet with some water and bada-bing-bada-boom — clean hands.
Multi-Purpose Wash
Sea to Summit Wilderness Wash
Be able to wash dishes and clothes anywhere, with this versatile soap.
When I go on longer, multi-destination trips, I always pack this Sea to Summit Wilderness Wash. Sometimes dishwashing soap and laundry detergent are available at my accommodations, but sometimes they’re not, and it’s better to be prepared in my opinion.
I like that this multi-purpose wash cleans dishes and laundry better than normal soap, and the formula is pretty concentrated. It makes me feel better that I can always clean my water bottle and clothing if I need to.
Carabiner Clips
12KN Heavy Duty Carabiner Clips
A few durable carabiner clips like these will always come in handy.
When you start to run out of space (or time), clipping a few items onto your bags with carabiner clips is just convenient. These 12KN Heavy Duty Carabiner Clips will get the job done. They’re made from aluminum and designed to be heavy-duty, durable, and waterproof.
Jewelry Organizer
Benevolence LA Plush Velvet Jewelry Box
Make getting ready easy and tangle-free with this cute and compact jewelry organizer.
Imagine, it’s your first day in Europe, you’re almost done getting ready, and you find your jewelry tangled in a big knot after the flight over. What was excitement to wear a cute outfit and begin exploring has now turned into a frustrating 10-15 minute saga of untangling jewelry.
Prevent this by simply packing a jewelry organizer like this Benevolence LA Plush Velvet Jewelry Box. It has thousands of good reviews. Besides being cute, the box has different compartments for your earrings, bracelets, rings, and necklaces, keeping everything contained and tangle-free. It has a built-in mirror, too.
Luggage Tags
SKYDAWNY Luggage Tags
These steel loop luggage tags with privacy covers provide extra peace of mind on long haul flights.
I only travel with carry-on bags if possible, but sometimes they make you gate-check your bags anyway. When this happens, I prefer to have a luggage tag on my bag just in case anything happens. Plus, it makes your bags more identifiable when you go to pick them up.
The SKYDAWNY Luggage Tags are perfect because they come in lots of fun prints, but they’re practical, too. They have durable steel loops, so you don’t have to worry about your tags being broken or pulled off. They also have privacy covers over the ID labels so strangers can’t read your info.
Air Tags
Apple AirTag 4 Pack
Always know where your checked bags are by simply placing an air tag inside.
Having a lost or delayed bag is kinda the worst. Trust me, I’ve been there. Besides not having your stuff, it can be stressful to not know where your bag is.
If you plan on checking some bags to or from Europe, purchasing some Apple AirTags is a good idea. Just place one inside each of your bags before you fly, and you’ll always know where your stuff is (even when the airline doesn’t).
Portable Door Lock
Addalock The Original Portable Door Lock
This packable portable door lock fits on most doors and provides extra security at night.
Traveling solo? Maybe you just want a little extra peace of mind? The Addalock Portable Door Lock is a great thing to have (I have it myself!). It works by being a reinforcement lock and it’s super easy to attach. It fits on most doors and no extra tools are needed.
Personal Security Alarm
Birdie Personal Safety Alarm
This tiny, but mighty alarm can be attached to your keychain to offer extra safety and security on-the-go.
European travel is generally regarded as pretty safe, but you can never be too careful. And it’s a good idea to take extra precautions if you’re a woman, traveling alone, or plan on being out at night.
The Birdie Personal Safety Alarm works by letting out a loud siren and flashing strobe lights when activated, creating a distraction and deterrent if you feel threatened. The alarm is pretty small and can easily fit on a keychain.
Travel Locks
SURE LOCK TSA Compatible Travel Luggage Locks
Protect your valuables from theft with these TSA-approved travel locks.
I never travel without a lock on my bag. You just never know. My go-to are these SURE LOCK Luggage Locks. They’re TSA-approved, durable, and work with pretty much every bag out there. I’ve had mine for years and they’re still in great shape.
Umbrella
SY COMPACT Travel Umbrella
Stay dry and be prepared for any weather with this packable and lightweight umbrella.
Rainy days are inevitable, but getting soaked, catching a cold, and having your plans ruined doesn’t have to be. Umbrellas tend to be overpriced in Europe, and you’ll always see tourist shops jack up the prices right when it starts to rain. How convenient.
Instead of being caught in a downpour unprepared, just bring this SY COMPACT Travel Umbrella with you. Not only will it keep you dry, but it’s windproof, protectant against UV rays, and is quick-drying. It comes in a bunch of cool designs, too.
Travel Journal
Moleskine Classic Notebook
Don’t let your European memories slip away. Write it all down in this classic, high-quality notebook.
Discovering literary attractions in Paris? Going island-hopping in Croatia? Maybe you’re looking for Nessie up in Scotland. Wherever your European travels take you, they’re sure to be memorable. What better way to capture it all than through your own words?
Travel journaling is one of my favorite things, and the Moleskine Classic Notebook is the perfect choice. It’s thin and lightweight, has a high-quality cover and pages, and an elastic strap to keep everything secure. There’s also an inside pocket for storing things like postcards and ticket stubs.
Money Belt
LANNEY Money Belt for Travel
Keep your cards, IDs, and phone extra secure in this sturdy, yet discreet money belt.
Maybe it’s your first time in Europe. Or maybe you just want to practice a little extra caution. Save yourself the stress by wearing a money belt to keep your valuables close to you. I don’t personally use one, but it’s not a terrible idea, especially in touristy places.
The LANNEY Money Belt for Travel is thin and slim, so you can discreetly wear it under your clothes if you choose. It’s RFID-blocking, waterproof, and has sturdy zippers, stitching, and enclosures. It’s also made to be breathable and comfortable on the skin.
Electrolyte Tablets
Nuun Sport Electrolyte Tablets
Stay hydrated, happy, and feeling good with these packed electrolyte tablets that come in plenty of flavors.
You’ll be doing more walking than you’re used to in Europe, it’s just a fact. But that doesn’t mean you have to be dehydrated, too. Electrolyte tablets are the perfect solution.
These Nuun Sport Electrolyte Tablets come in a bunch of different flavors and have Sodium, Potassium, Chloride, Magnesium, and Calcium to keep you hydrated. The tablets are low in sugar and are vegan, gluten-free, and non-GMO.
Also, if you run out of tablets during your trip, similar ones are pretty easy to find at most pharmacies in Europe.

Clothing, Shoes, & Accessories to Pack for Europe

My best advice for fashion in Europe is to pack your best, favorite basics to mix and match. Create a capsule wardrobe of versatile pieces that can all go together, and make sure they’re comfortable so you’ll actually wear them.
Think of plain, solid colored tees, and a few different styles of bottoms. You’ll want durable items that can be dressed up or down, so you can wear them hiking a mountain or strolling through a city and everything in between. Your itinerary and time of year you plan to visit also play a role.
Another good idea is to pack classic silhouettes and items – nothing too flashy. You don’t want to lug around delicate pieces that are hard to style or wash, and you don’t want to wear things that could make you stand out and become a target. Keep scrolling for a full list of clothing items.
Comfortable Sneakers
Salomon Trail Runners
Invest in a pair of high-quality, comfortable walking shoes like these which you can take from the trails to the city streets.
Comfortable sneakers are arguably the #1 most important “clothing” item when visiting Europe. No matter your itinerary or travel style, you’ll be getting your steps in, and you need to protect your feet. So, if you’re going to invest in one thing, let it be quality footwear.
The Salomon Trail Runners are my favorite. I have the XT-6 style and wore them almost daily during a month-long trip to Europe last year. I never had tired feet or blisters. Over a year later, they’re still as comfy as ever. I love that they’re easy to slip on and off, they stay secure, and the tread makes them great for hiking as well as cobblestone streets. And of course, they’re stylish.
I will say, Salomons work better for more narrow feet. So, if you have wider feet, consider another lightweight trail runner style shoe.
Versatile Jacket
Amazon Essentials Women’s Packable Puffer Jacket
Take this warm, lightweight jacket from hikes to late nights and any other cool-weather activities in Europe.
Depending on your itinerary, you might encounter multiple climates. It’s always better to be prepared with layers, including a versatile jacket. This could come in handy in colder climates, or if you plan on visiting higher altitudes in the summertime.
The Amazon Essentials Women’s Packable Puffer Jacket is lightweight while still being warm. It’s waterproof, fully-lined, and comes in several colors. I also like that it comes with a packable pouch, making it compact. There’s a men’s version of the jacket as well.
Flip Flops
Havaianas Women’s Slim Season Flip Flops
This durable and classic yet affordable pair of flip flops is perfect for water activities and walks around your hotel or hostel.
Flip flops are just another one of those travel essentials that comes in handy for different things. On the one hand, they’re needed if you plan on visiting beaches, lakes, pools, or hot springs. On the other hand, they’re convenient for walking around your hotel. And you’ll definitely need them as shower shoes if you plan on staying in hostels.
These Havaianas Women’s Slim Season Flip Flops are waterproof and lightweight, yet sturdy. They come in plenty of colors and they’re affordable. You can check out the men’s version as well.
Merino Wool Clothing
Smartwool Clothing
This high-quality, long-lasting clothing is light yet warm and moisture-wicking. Perfect for adventurous travelers in Europe.
Figuring out how to pack light while also considering different temperatures and climates can be tricky. And then there’s the whole laundry situation, which can be inconsistent when you’re traveling around Europe.
This is why I recommend Merino wool clothing. Specifically, Smartwool Clothing. The material is super light, while also being warm and moisture-wicking. You don’t need to wash Merino wool clothing as often either, because it’s naturally anti-microbial and less likely to smell.
Smartwool’s clothing items are extremely high quality and long lasting. For example, I own a Smartwool zip-up that was a hand-me-down from my cousin over 10 years ago. It’s still in great shape today.
Compression Socks
fenglaoda Compression Socks
Keep your legs, ankles, and feet comfortable and supported with these fun compression socks.
Compression socks have always been an item I thought was “for old people.” But as it turns out, younger people can benefit from wearing compression socks on long flights, too. They aid with circulation, swelling, and lymphatic drainage. I’ll definitely be wearing some on my next flight to Europe.
The fenglaoda Compression Socks are great because they offer moderate compression while still being comfortable and supportive. I also love that they come in wacky and classic styles alike. There’s truly a pair for everyone.
Scarf
maamgic Pashmina Shawl for Women
This soft, classic scarf is highly rated and perfect for staying warm and covering up in European churches.
A scarf is one of the most versatile clothing pieces out there, but you’ll especially want one in Europe. This maamgic Pashmina Shawl for Women will keep you warm on chilly days, while still looking stylish. It’s also useful for visiting churches around Europe, but especially in Italy, where you’ll need to cover your shoulders and knees to enter.

Swimsuit
Eomenie Women’s One Piece Swimsuit
Bring along a classic swimsuit to enjoy Europe’s beaches, lakes, hot springs, and saunas.
A swimsuit may seem like a totally seasonal item to pack, but it’s actually not, depending on your itinerary. Yes, you’ll want a swimsuit for beaches and lakes in the summertime. But there are several hot springs around Europe, too, and these can be enjoyed year-round.
The Eomenie One Piece Swimsuit is a classic style for women that comes in multiple colors. For men, the Tyhengta Swim Trunks are a good choice with several colors and patterns.

Seasonal Items to Pack for Europe

Depending on when you visit, there are some additional seasonal items you may want to pack. For example, if you’re visiting in the winter and want to ski, or you’re visiting in summer and need to survive the heat.
Here are recommendations for seasonal items or clothing you might need in Europe:
Waterproof Boots
Blundstone Original Chelsea Boots
These unisex boots are a traveler favorite for their versatility and comfort.
Traveling during the cooler months? Waterproof boots are a good idea for keeping your feet warm, comfortable, and dry. Blundstone’s Original Chelsea Boots are popular with travelers for their durability, water-resistance, and comfortable footbed, which is perfect for long days on your feet. These unisex boots can be worn for city walking and hiking alike.
Outdoor Sandals
Teva Sandals
A pair of comfortable, breathable sandals is essential during the summertime in Europe.
On the flip side, you’ll want some outdoor sandals if you’re traveling to Europe during the summer. Teva Sandals are known for their quality and comfort, and they come in endless style options. You’ll want a well-made pair of sandals for all the walking you’ll be doing. The last thing you want is to have hot, overly-sweaty, blistered feet. Ouch.
Hand Warmers
HotHands Hand Warmers
Don’t let the cold ruin your fun and keep your fingers toasty with these long-lasting hand warmers.
Europe during the winter can definitely be magical. Think Christmas markets, skiing in the Alps, and snowfall in historic city centers. But freezing hands? Not so magical. You won’t be able to enjoy yourself if your cold hands have lost feeling.
HotHands Hand Warmers will keep your hands warm for hours. These small packs activate pretty quickly and heat can last for up to 18 hours. And, they’ll barely take up space in your bag.
Sunscreen
Sun Bum Original SPF 50 Sunscreen
Protect your skin year round with this moisturizing, water-resistant sunscreen.
For whatever reason, sunscreen always seems to be expensive in Europe. And the bottles are small. Save yourself from having to hunt down sunscreen and paying extra, by packing a bottle.
I’ve been using Sun Bum Sunscreen for years. It always works, it never leaves white streaks, and doesn’t feel too greasy the way that some sunscreens do. It’s also moisturizing, dermatologist approved, Hawaii 104 Reef Act Compliant, and waterproof. The link above is for the 3 Fl Oz bottle, so you can pack it in your carry-on, too.
Insect Repellent
Murphy’s Naturals Mosquito Repellent Balm
Keep pesky mosquitoes and insects at bay with this natural, DEET-free, yet effective repellent.
No one likes bug bites. The itchy, irritation can completely ruin the vibe, and that’s the last thing you want on vacation. Depending on where you’re going in Europe (and when), consider packing some insect repellent.
Murphy’s Naturals Mosquito Repellent Balm is a great choice because it’s DEET-free and works by masking your scent with the natural oils of lemongrass, rosemary, cedarwood, and peppermint. The tin is small to pack and the repellent works for about two hours per application. The best part? It actually works.
Fan
JISULIFE Handheld Mini Fan
Stay cool on-the-go with this small and rechargeable handheld fan.
Summers can be HOT in Europe, depending on where you are. And don’t expect the AC to be blasting everywhere like it is in America. Prevent a meltdown (literally) by carrying one of these JISULIFE Handheld Mini Fans in your bag. It provides up to 19 hours of cooling time and even has a flashlight and portable charger.
Underwater Phone Case
Hiearcool Waterproof Phone Pouch
With this triple layered waterproof phone case, you can snap all the beach photos you want, without worry.
Doing a lot of swimming? You should be. Europe is home to some of the most famous beaches and coastlines in the world. With that kind of reputation, you’ll want to capture some photos.
Add the Hiearcool Waterproof Phone Pouch to your Europe packing list. It fits pretty much every smart phone out there and its triple layer protection will keep your phone dry. I used this case last year while doing an Amalfi Coast boat tour, and it worked perfectly.
Hat
Carhartt Beanie
This cozy, affordable beanie comes in tons of colors and will keep your head warm while you travel.
If your head is warm, you’ll be warm. If you’re traveling somewhere cool, then a hat is a good idea.
The Carhartt Beanie is a staple in my wardrobe at home and abroad. It’s affordable, keeps your head warm, and comes in colors to suit anyone’s style. I also like that it’s not too tight, as some beanies tend to be.
Linen Set
ANRABESS Women’s 2 Piece Linen Set
Stay cool while dressing classy with this flowy linen blend set that comes in lots of cute colors.
Linen, cotton, and other lightweight, breathable fabrics are needed come summertime in Europe. Especially around Southern Europe in destinations like Italy, Spain, and Portugal. Plus, you’ll want to dress classy and practical for style and convenience. Linen sets are the perfect solution.
This ANRABESS 2 Piece Linen Set is a cute and timeless choice for women. It’s a linen blend with a loose, flowy fit so you’re sure to be cool. It comes in plenty of cute colors, too. The COOFANDY 2 Piece Linen Set is a similarly good option for men.
Other Seasonal Items to Pack for Europe
So what seasonal items should you pack for Europe? Here is a quick checklist for Europe:
- Beach coverup
- Goggles
- Snorkel set
- Wool socks
- Ski gear
- Thermal wear
- Gloves
Europe Packing Tips
Pack a capsule wardrobe

A capsule wardrobe is a must for travel in general, but especially in Europe, where local styles tend to lean more classic. To break it down, a capsule wardrobe means packing a minimal amount of clothing items that can all be mixed and matched. This top goes with these pants, which all go with these shoes, etc.
Packing a capsule wardrobe also helps prevent you from overpacking, and packing items that just aren’t practical. Pack only what’s comfortable and versatile, and mix things up with accessories, which are much smaller to pack.
I recommend sticking to neutrals and/or colors you love. Then, pack 2-3 shoes. Depending on the season, this should be one pair of comfortable sneakers, one pair of boots/comfortable sandals, and/or something else.
Pack layers

In addition to packing a capsule wardrobe, prioritize clothing items that can be layered. For example, pack a mix of tank tops, basic tees, button ups, and cardigans. This way, you can adjust what you wear for a mix of destinations, as well as changing weather throughout the day.
Consider a backpack over a rolling suitcase

Deciding whether to bring a suitcase or a backpack to Europe can be a tricky decision.
It all depends on what kind of trip you’re planning. Are you backpacking Europe and trying to travel on the cheap? Are you planning on doing a lot of jumping around from city to city and country to country? Bring a travel backpack.
Splurging on nice hotels and taking taxis over public transportation? Maybe you’re practicing slower travel and spending longer stretches in different cities. A normal checked or carry-on suitcase may be better for you.
Comfortable walking shoes are everything

If there’s one tip you take from this article, let it be this. Bring comfortable walking shoes. No matter what you think, I can promise you you’ll be doing a lot of walking in Europe. It’s crucial that you invest in quality footwear to prevent injury, and honestly FOMO. Because having tired feet and blisters won’t make you want to explore very much.
My favorite shoes for travel are Salomon trail runners, but there are plenty of other, more affordable shoes by brands like Dr. Scholl’s or New Balance.
Do laundry when you can, and plan for some hand washing and air drying

Depending on your accommodations and your itinerary, laundry could be easy or totally sporadic. Factor this into what you wear each day and what you’ll need for other days. You may need to wash clothes by hand, which is why I recommend multi-purpose wash.
You might also end up air drying a lot of your clothes, as dryers are less common in Europe.
