📚 What was Your Favorite Travel Experience or Story?
Cruising! From listening to other people’s experiences, cruising may not be for everyone. But for me, it’s always been amazing! I’ve gotten to eat unique foods I’d never get to try back home and spend time gazing at my favorite body of water – the ocean!
At the same time, cruises are like that sampler platter you find at restaurants. You’re not in the location for long, maybe a day at most. But now that you’ve got that ‘taste’, you know where you’d like to go back and spend more time. You can fly in and take as much time as you want to enjoy the place. Two places I’ve sampled that I want to go back to are Puerto Rico and Grand Cayman.
🗺️ What’s Your #1 Expert Travel Tip?
Don’t always go somewhere “in-season”, such as the popular Spring and Summer months. Try late Fall, early Spring, or depending on the area, even winter! I’ve found some great spots that weren’t crowded with tourists, making them all the more fun to explore. One such place was Lake Las Vegas. My daughter and I paid a visit in January and got to enjoy the lake without a crowd. Our trip to the Strip also wasn’t crowded, and parking was better than when I went over the summer. If you’re worried about the weather being a tad bit cooler, all the more reason to wear an awesome hoodie!
