📚 What was Your Favorite Travel Experience or Story?
My husband and I booked flights to Oslo because we found a great sale. We knew nothing about Norway or what to do there. Once we started doing research, I became obsessed with the idea of hiking Trolltunga. Then, I took it a step further and decided we would camp at the top of the mountain. Luckily, he loves an adventure as much as I do.
Before our trip, we went to REI and bought the lightest and smallest tent, sleeping bags, and necessities. We managed to pack all our gear, along with a week’s worth of toiletries and clothes, in our carry ons. With a rental car and a dream, we drove 5 hours across Norway and hiked almost 9 miles to reach Trolltunga by sunset.
The view of Trolltunga with the sunset reflecting on the lake below will remain in my mind forever. It was one of the most awe-inspiring things I’ve ever seen. Plus, ending the night camping by a glacial lake at 3600’ elevation will always be one of the most extraordinary things I’ve ever done.
🗺️ What’s Your #1 Expert Travel Tip?
My ultimate travel tip is to plan ahead. This might seem obvious, but I think some people assume they will figure things out when they get to a location. In my experience, understanding the public transportation, hours of operation, cultural norms, popular foods, and available attractions for a location makes your trip much smoother.
For my itinerary, I like to build a document that includes all reservations, things to do, and other important information for my trip. It might seem old school, but I usually print off a copy in case I lose or break my phone. The peace of mind from knowing my plan allows me to relax and enjoy my trip even more.

✈️ Window or Aisle Seat?
Aisle seat! I drink way too much water to be stuck in a window seat 😝
