Being such a popular travel destination, there is no shortage of hotels in Nashville. With so many different options, it can be hard to know which hotel will suit you best. 

As a Nashville local, I’ve taken staycations in the city and helped friends and family decide where to stay in Nashville. To put this list together, I did research and personally visited lots of Nashville hotels. I’m here to guide you to the best hotels in Nashville and tell you what makes each of them stand out.

Whether you’re looking for the ultimate luxury stay or a more budget-friendly Nashville hotel, I can point you in the right direction. Let’s get started!

Best Hotels in Nashville

The Graduate Nashville

A hotel with a playful, unique atmosphere hosting one of the coolest rooftop bars in Nashville and one of my favorite hotel lobbies.

If I could only recommend one hotel in Nashville, it would be The Graduate Nashville. Located in Midtown, it’s not too far from all the things happening downtown. However, you could totally have a great Nashville experience without even leaving the hotel.

The hotel’s rooftop bar White Limozeen is an homage to all things Dolly Parton. It’s pink, glam, a bit-over-the top, and absolutely charming. The bar is a destination in itself. It’s the perfect place for bachelorette parties in Nashville, or just for groups of friends to hang out.

The atmosphere in the rest of the hotel is equally quirky and fun. The Graduate has almost everything: a beautiful lobby, coffee shop, gym, and even a weekend karaoke bar. 

The only thing the hotel lacks is a private pool for guests. There is a rooftop pool, but it’s accessible by reservation only. If you want a playful and luxe hotel to really set the tone for your Nashville trip, The Graduate is the place to stay.

The Gallatin

A bold, colorful concierge-less hotel in East Nashville with a mission to give back to the community.

There are so many reasons to love this bold hotel in East Nashville. Unlike other hotels, you get a code that allows you to access the building and your room making check-in easy. There are employees available for you to reach out to at any time if you need something.

Housed in a former church, The Gallatin has several different room options that make it ideal for a variety of visitors. Pick one of the bunk rooms if you’re traveling with a group; there’s even a double bunk room that sleeps up to eight guests. 

There are a couple of things that make the Gallatin stand out. It has luggage lockers to use if you arrive before check-in time and there’s free parking for guests, which is a big deal in Nashville. Second, a portion of the profits from the hotel goes back to the community to provide beds, showers, and food for those experiencing homelessness.

Note that there is no elevator in The Gallatin, so not every room is easily accessible for visitors with limited mobility.

Noelle

A stunning hotel with an Art Deco style that has an unbeatable location in Downtown Nashville.

If you want to stay in a beautiful hotel with a great location, then Noelle is for you. Originally called the Noel Hotel, the historic building was built in 1929. In 2014, the hotel went through a renovation and reopened as the Noelle. You’ll find that the hotel offers modern touches while still remaining true to the original Art Deco features. Every aspect of the hotel is gorgeous.

The hotel has thought of every amenity you need for a good stay. From white noise machines blocking out the sounds of downtown to a steamer for your clothes and automatic blackout shades, you’ll find yourself wondering if you could just move in.

Located right off Printers Alley, Noelle is within walking distance of all of the attractions downtown. When it comes to dining, you don’t even have to leave the hotel to have a good experience. Head to Rare Bird, a rooftop bar with beautiful views of the Cumberland River, or try out the Italian-inspired cuisine at Makeready L&L. There’s even a cool hidden bar. 

When I visited, the hidden bar was Moulin Rouge-themed, but the theme changes periodically.

Conrad Nashville

A truly upscale experience in Midtown Nashville.

The Conrad provides the ultimate luxury stay in Nashville. The atmosphere is sophisticated and elegant with attention paid to every single detail. 

The Conrad is prepared to meet almost any need when it comes to room configuration. Here, you’ll find everything from wellness rooms with an Echelon fitness mirror and Peloton bike (so you can work out in the privacy of your room) to suites with dining and living areas that are great for longer stays.

The hotel has a private gym and a rooftop pool for guests along with excellent dining options. The hotel’s 3rd-floor bar Thistle & Rye is the perfect low-key atmosphere to enjoy a drink, especially if you enjoy craft cocktails or are a serious whisky fan. 

Also, even if you don’t plan on staying at the Conrad, you should make plans to try out the on-site restaurant, Blue Aster. The seafood-based menu does not disappoint.

Hotel Fraye

A Midtown hotel with a southwestern country flair and a gorgeous rooftop pool.

With a good location in Midtown, Hotel Fraye is a perfect choice for visitors who want to be near the action. Like many hotels in Music City, Fraye has taken inspiration from country music, but in this case, it’s with a southwestern vibe that stands out from what you’ll find in other Nashville hotels. 

The property feels sophisticated. There’s a fitness center, a beautiful restaurant, and an inviting rooftop pool complete with cabanas and a bar. One of the coolest areas in the hotel is a bar in the lobby serving coffee on one side and cocktails on the other; all in a rusticly elegant setting.

Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center

A modern hotel/resort in Music Valley with a beautiful atrium, gardens, and pools.

Located in Music Valley, the Gaylord Opryland Resort has great access to the Grand Ole Opry House. The resort is an entertainment hub with unique features like an indoor atrium and a water park. The inside of the atrium is especially beautiful at Christmas when everything is decorated. There are also dining and shopping options onsite.

You will have to drive in Nashville or use rideshares if choosing to stay at this property. The property is a 15-minute drive from the Nashville Airport. You will need a car to stay at the resort if you plan to visit anything besides the Grand Ole Opry House and a nearby mall. 

The resort is a good choice for families who want to have lots of entertainment options without having to leave the property too often.

Sheraton Grand Nashville Downtown

A cool modern hotel located right near all the action in downtown.

With a great location, the Sheraton Grand Nashville Downtown makes it easy to get to many of the biggest tourist attractions in Music City. It’s just 0.7 miles from the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, and the hotel offers a complimentary golf cart shuttle to Broadway where you can enjoy the honky tonks and live music. 

The hotel has a modern, welcoming, feel and a few features you won’t find anywhere else. You can rent vinyl records and a record player to listen to music in the comfort of your hotel room. The Sheraton Grand also offers bike rentals to make getting around Downtown Nashville easier. 

The hotel is a good choice for individuals or business travelers who want to be near all the action in Music City.

Thompson Hotel

A cool, upscale hotel in one of Nashville’s trendiest neighborhoods.

The Thompson Hotel is a boutique hotel located in the Gulch, one of the hottest neighborhoods in Nashville. The hotel is near some of the best restaurants and bars in the city. You’re still within walking distance of Downtown Nashville, but there’s plenty to do nearby.

The hotel has a mid-century modern vibe and you’ll find all the amenities you’d expect from a boutique hotel. There are a variety of rooms and suites, so you can find a configuration that matches what you need. If you’re looking for a boutique stay in a trendy neighborhood, the Thompson Hotel is a great choice.

JW Marriott

A luxury hotel right in the heart of Downtown Nashville.

Located in Downtown Nashville, the JW Marriott gives guests easy access to some of the biggest attractions in Nashville. The hotel is popular with business travelers because it’s located right near Music City Center.

The JW Marriott is also a good option for guests who want extra space. The rooms here are larger than at many other hotels in Nashville. The rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows with a great view of downtown Nashville. While at the luxury hotel, guests can enjoy the rooftop pool and bar, the fitness center with Peloton bikes, and the spa.

Hilton Nashville Downtown Hotel

A comfortable downtown hotel near Bridgestone Arena and the Ryman Auditorium.

The Hilton Nashville Downtown Hotel is a good choice for those going to a Predator game or seeing a concert at Bridgestone Arena. The hotel is just off Broadway so there’s always something going on nearby. Be aware that you may hear some noise depending on where your room is located.

The rooms are modern and comfortable, and there are several hearing and mobility-accessible options. The decor feels slightly more generic than some other Nashville hotels at a similar price point. Still, the location is ideal if you have tickets for Bridgestone Arena or the Ryman Auditorium. 

The hotel has a fitness center for guests as well as several on-site dining options.

The Dive Motel

A quirky, colorful adults-only hotel in East Nashville with an awesome pool and disco balls in every room.

Don’t let the exterior fool you, this hotel in East Nashville looks like a run-down motel, but it’s actually a cool place to stay. The motel was built in 1965 and has since been renovated. The atmosphere has a very retro vibe with shag carpets, dark wood, and even a party switch and disco ball in each room.

The entire hotel is 21+ only and has a dive bar as well as an outdoor pool. There are typically dance parties happening on weekend nights. It’s a unique one-of-a-kind stay you won’t find replicated at any other hotels in Nashville. Just be aware that noise levels sometimes get loud here. 

The Dive Motel would be the perfect place to stay for a bachelorette party in Nashville or for other celebrations.
