My Review
I loved the Solly Hôtel Paris instantly. I could tell someone put plenty of thought into the decor – it’s innovative and modern, yet charming and comfortable. Colorful wallpaper, bright furniture, and sparkling fixtures lit up the lobby. A floral breeze followed me through the front door and led me to the smiling front desk attendant. I was smitten with the place.
My adoration grew deeper when I entered my 6th-floor room. A gallery wall of beautiful artwork hung above a queen bed decorated with plush pillows and fluffy bedding. Black and white curtains accented the yellow pops of color in the decor. Though not a big room, it was designed to flow and allowed us plenty of space to store our bags and stretch out.
The thing that made me head over heels was the balcony. Adorned with French doors, a teal garden table, and a sprawling view of the garden below, I could not take my jaw off the floor for my first hour in the room. I don’t know that I’ve ever felt that excited about a hotel in my life. My boyfriend was concerned by my incessant squeals of delight.

The Solly was so unique. Everywhere I looked were quirky little accents that I never would’ve thought of. The Art Deco designs were stunning. Toiletries included soaps from The Botanist and The Chemist, a luxury hotel brand. The toilet paper featured stickers of the hotel’s namesake, famous traveler and architect Salomon de Caus. It’s the little things.
The Solly was also gloriously quiet. Though we could still hear the hustle and bustle of the city with the French doors swung open, the trees in the park square below subdued that noise down to a hum. I felt effortlessly refreshed in this perfect little oasis. I remember thinking, Now this is what Paris should feel like.
Breakfast included the standard eggs, meats, cheeses, and pastries. I was highly impressed with how many gluten and dairy-free options they offered. Though I don’t have any dietary restrictions, I can imagine those details would matter a ton to someone who does. They also had a killer fruit salad, chopped before our eyes by the sweet staff in the kitchen.
I wish I could’ve stayed longer at the Solly Hôtel Paris. Heck, I wish I could’ve moved in! It was such a lovely experience, and I so enjoyed the stay. I would recommend this gorgeous hotel to anyone visiting Paris, and I will certainly be back.

About the Location
The Solly Hôtel Paris is located in the 3rd arrondissement in the renowned Marais district. This area is commended as one of the best places to stay in Paris for its excellent shopping, dining, and museums. It’s also very close to some of the top attractions in the city, like Notre Dame and the Louvre.
The hotel resides on a quiet street with a beautiful view of a park and stunning architecture around the square. We’ve just booked 2 nights (1-3rd December) in Le Marais for some Christmas ambiance and shopping!
I’ve actually booked Les Tournelles Hotel, rather than the Solly Hotel, (I did it, before reading your blog) but I could change my booking? Do you know Les Tournelles hotel, have you stayed there? ……thoughts please!
Hi Debbie! I have not stayed at Les Tournelles Hotel, but upon checking it out on Booking.com, it looks fabulous. It honestly gives off a very similar vibe to Solly, and it’s right in that same neighborhood in the Marais. That location is my favorite in Paris! I think you’ll fare well there, and I’d love to hear about your stay when you’re back. Read Rachel’s tips on Paris at Christmastime before you go. are there cobblestone streets and little alleyways?
Hi Terri, yes! That is exactly the nature of this neighborhood. There are lots of major streets and attractions nearby, but the hotel itself is next to a beautiful park and lots of quiet little cobblestone backstreets. I loved exploring this area! Hope this helps (: Betty
Thank you for your review. If we book a room with a balcony, will we be assured to have a balcony?
Hi Jason! Upon looking at the website, I believe any room listed “with balcony” is guaranteed to have a balcony. I highly suggest booking one; sitting over the rooftops of Paris with my morning coffee was one of the highlights of my trip! I recommend calling the hotel to double-check availability, just in case. (:
I noticed there is a spot for a code …… Is there a way to find a code for a discounted rate? We will be heading to Paris in October and love the looks of this hotel! Thank you in advance!
