NH Collection Venezia Murano Villa (My Review)

My Review

I stayed at 4-star NH Collection Venezia Murano Villa for two nights on my mission to find the best places to stay in Venice; and it was the only hotel I stayed at in Murano.

Overall, at 104 rooms, this was one of the most spread out hotels I stayed at in Venice. There is so much space to lounge and relax, both indoor and outdoor, and it seems like every nook and cranny is filled with local art and gorgeous Murano glass. I really liked how the common spaces are styled, everything is so colorful and inviting.

Because the hotel is so spacious, it offers a ton of amenities. It has a wellness center (just be sure to book a massage slot ahead of time), two bars, a gym, and a restaurant. There is also a stunning terrace overlooking the water.

Speaking of the restaurant, I was so bummed that I couldn’t get a reservation at Antica Fornace De Majo Restaurant & Terrace. I tried both days I stayed at the hotel, and it was completely booked out. But, I think this is a testament to just how good this restaurant is; all the reviews about it are raving. Just make a reservation way in advance!

But I did add the breakfast buffet onto my stay though, and I thought it was really good. The breakfast is served in the same room as the restaurant, and the first thing I noticed was the large windows and view of the lagoon. This was the best view I had with breakfast on my entire trip to Venice. And the food selection was really diverse, with eggs, meat, cheese, vegetables, fruit, pastries, cereal, yogurt, juice, and a selection of hot items.

As for the room itself (we stayed in Room 6, a Superior Double Room with Park View), it was very comfortable. The room is completely contemporary with all modern furnishings; to be honest it didn’t exactly scream “Venice” as it could be anywhere in the world, but it was well laid out and stylish.

I had two very good sleeps in the bed, and the bathroom was great. Awesome water pressure and heat.

My only two critiques of the room are that it wasn’t very soundproof; we could hear people talking out in the hallway during the day, and the WiFi could have been better. As someone who works while traveling, I kind of had to postpone work projects. Still, the hotel has a business center so if you really need to download/upload from the internet, they can accommodate you.

Overall, I recommend NH Collection Venezia Murano Villa to anyone who wants a quiet and contemporary stay away from the hustle and bustle of central Venice. It’s also perfect for couples or those with mobility issues, as the hotel is very accessible.

About the Location

NH Collection Venezia Murano Villa is located on the island of Murano, about a 20-minute water bus ride from central Venice. This location is notably less busy and hectic than central Venice, yet the island has a claim to fame in its own right – hand blown glass.

That’s right, if you know anything about Murano, it’s likely that it has many glass factories. If you’ve been wanting to purchase a piece of authentic Murano glass, this is the place to do it. You can also take a tour of the factories while you’re there; I went to Wave Murano Glass to see them making the pieces in real time.

Of course, Murano has a very different vibe than central Venice. So, for seeing the main sites and getting into central Venice, the hotel also offers a daily shuttle service right to St. Mark’s square. Getting around and seeing the sites couldn’t be easier.

Or, if you want your own ride, the hotel has a private dock for water taxis (and honestly this is also a super pretty dock for photos!)
Even if you don’t stay in Murano, you should add the island to your Venice itinerary.

Who Should Stay Here

🔷 People looking for a quiet escape away from the crowds of central Venice

🔷 Folks with mobility issues – much of the hotel is very accessible

🔷 Families (there is a park right next door!)

My Highlights of This Hotel

⭐ It’s such a spacious hotel compared to many in Venice. There’s lots of room to explore and spread out, including tons of outdoor space.

⭐ The gym! This was one of only a couple hotels in Venice I stayed at that had a gym. It had free weights, exercise bikes, and other various equipment.

⭐ I love how artsy this hotel is, there is art and Murano glass around every corner.

Things to Note

⚠️ I think this would be a really great hotel for a party or event. There are meeting rooms, they offer wedding packages, and there is so much space to accommodate lots of guests.

  1. Hi,
We are staying at the NH collection Murano for 5 nights in July prior to a 3 week cruise and have a few questions. Is the hotels’ shuttle to/from Venice more convenient than the vaporetto and is there a charge? Planning to visit Venice 3 days, 1 day to Burano & Torcello and last day possibly for shopping. Been to Venice twice before this trip. Any suggestions? Recommendations for vintage shopping??? Thank You!
