We are visiting Denver in late Sept. as basically first timers since our 1st visit was back in 2005 and would like to ask your opinion about Courtyard by Marriott Denver Central Park. We were confused by its name "Central Park" with the area Central Business District mentioned in your article. Since we will be using public transportation during our visit to check out Denver's top sights, do you think we should stay there as it's very inexpensive at only $99/night vs. all the other hotels closer to downtown? Your recommended Hilton Garden Inn Denver Union Station hotel is now very expensive at $265 removed link   Thank you kindly in advance.

Central Park (formerly called "Stapleton") is a neighborhood further out from the city's center than CBD (which is the area of Denver's downtown that's home to the city's skyscrapers). In general, Central Park is not my first recommendation if it is your first time in Denver. It's generally more residential and, though there are some commuter rail connections, overall it's an area where you really should only stay if you plan to have a car. It is most definitely not walkable to the main attractions of Denver (unlike CBD or the LoDo / Union Station area).

Now, with that said, there are some positives to Central Park - probably the main one being something you've already hit on: lower prices. Courtyard by Marriott Denver Central Park has only middling reviews, which probably contributes to the lower price as well. With that said, I believe it's been recently renovated.

Other budget hotels you might price out that are closer to downtown are the Fairfield Inn & Suites in LoHi or the SpringHill Suites by Marriott Denver Downtown
