From waterparks to urban centers and zip lines, there are some excellent amusement parks in Puerto Rico.

These amusement parks are well-known by locals, yet relatively undiscovered by visitors to the area. Meaning, you can probably visit a few of them without the crazy crowds that you’d find at say, Orlando theme parks. 

I’m a Puerto Rico local, and I know for a fact that amusement parks are some of Puerto Rico’s best attractions. In this article, I’ll spill the beans on the best amusement parks in Puerto Rico.

9 Best Amusement Parks in Puerto Rico

Las Cascadas Water Park

Visit this water park with friends and family to escape the heat of the West Coast.

Las Cascadas Water Park is the most popular Puerto Rico water park. It’s also considered one of Aguadilla’s best attractions. The park has water slides, a lazy river, and outdoor pools the whole family will enjoy.  

As a general rule, you can’t bring food or drinks inside the park. Luckily, there are multiple food kiosks and vending machines around. 

Just note that Las Cascadas Water Park closes during the winter season for construction and repairs. During that time, head over to other Puerto Rico waterparks instead.

Sector Sixty6

Race go-karts or go bowling at this entertainment center in Canóvanas.

Sector Sixty6 is an indoor entertainment establishment located within the Outlets 66 Mall in Canóvanas. It only takes a short drive to get there from Isla Verde. 

Sector Sixty6 has numerous attractions. Teenagers will rave about the K1 Speed, the fastest go-kart racing center in the entertainment industry. The indoor park has a bowling venue, an arcade, and an obstacle course too.

Karmas is Sector Sixty6’s exclusive restaurant, but you’ll find other food options inside the mall. 

Las Aventuras del Don

Both kids and adults will love this all-in-one amusement park in Añasco.

Las Aventuras del Don is one of the best theme parks in Puerto Rico for children. It’s located in the town of Añasco, on the west coast.

Las Aventuras del Don’s attractions include carnival games, rope courses, and go-karts. You’ll also get to enjoy an arcade, ziplining, and rock climbing.

The park offers amenities like bathrooms, food kiosks, and a restaurant. Stop at Don Maceta, the on-site restaurant, to have dinner and at Don Frappe to grab dessert. 

Coquí Water Park

Go down through speed slides or relax at the lazy river of this Fajardo water park.

Coquí Water Park is hidden within El Conquistador Resort, one of the best hotels in Puerto Rico. The water park has a lazy river, water slides, and an infinity pool with an ocean view. 

Guests can sunbathe at the park’s lounge chairs, or grab a snack at the food kiosks of this Fajardo attraction. Coquí Water Park has changing rooms and showers too. The only downside is that the park is only available for El Conquistador Resort guests.

Toro Verde Urban Park

The Toro Verde Adventure Park ranks as a great option for entertainment in San Juan, even on a rainy day. 

Toro Verde Urban Adventure Park offers thrilling fun within the heart of San Juan. It’s located within the T-Mobile District, one of San Juan’s best places to visit

The park boasts two zip lines, a rope course, a climbing wall, and an arcade. Finish your day with a meal at the Verbena restaurant.

Olimpia Water Park is a versatile and fun amusement park in Salinas. It’s considered one of the best parks in Puerto Rico. Most locals visit to cool down at the wave pool and water slides.

The water park has extra attractions for visitors who want to stay dry. Among them, you’ll find a mini golf, a museum, a rope circuit, and a climbing wall.

Bathrooms, gazebos, and food kiosks are all available within Olimpia Water Park. Keep in mind you aren’t allowed to bring outside snacks, nor wear jean shorts for the water attractions.  

Surf N Fun Water Park

Ride a surf simulator and swim at the wave pool in this water park.

Surf N Fun Water Park is the largest Puerto Rico water park. Nestled in San Germán, this water park is famous for having one of the few surf simulators on the island. 

Besides the surf simulator, the whole family will love the lazy river, wave pool, and splash park. 

You can’t bring outside snacks, but you can buy food within the park. The park offers various amenities like bathrooms, chairs, and parking. 

Viking Arena

Release your stress in the only ax-throwing venue in the metro region.

Viking Arena is one of the newest theme parks in Puerto Rico. The location in San Juan has the only ox range in the metropolitan area. Visitors can practice their ax-throwing skills alone or with friends.

Viking Arena hosts plenty of activities for adults and children besides ax-throwing. Slides, climbing walls, zip lines, and obstacle courses are part of this indoor establishment. Toddlers can play safely in the Baby Viking Area. Adults can head over to the adult-only lounge on the second floor, where there is a bar and a restaurant.

Museo del Niño de Carolina

Don’t get fooled by its name, this museum offers lots of entertainment for the kids.

The Museo del Niño in Carolina has dozens of interactive and fun activities for families despite being a museum.

It has a mini-zoo, go-karts, and an airplane. You can even take a boat tour down the Blasina Canal, one of the best sites to visit in Carolina.

Kids will jump between stations learning about different science-related themes. Don’t worry about them getting hungry or having to pee. There are food kiosks and bathrooms available at the museum.
