I’m a San Francisco local and lifelong music fan (shoutout to my rock musician father for taking me to concerts since I was 13). In this post, I’ll tell you the best places to see live music in every neighborhood in San Francisco. I’ll even highlight some unique venues in the suburbs outside the city that are well worth the drive! Bay Area bands have undoubtedly made their mark – from the psychedelic rock of the Grateful Dead to the headbanging pop-punk of Green Day and the funky R&B of Tower of Power.  There are incredible venues in the city whether you’re looking for small local acts or large shows from major artists.
