My Review

Want to stay somewhere in Venice with a jacuzzi tub on the balcony? Well, then you clicked on the right hotel review. On my quest to find the best places to stay in Venice, I stayed in room 509 at Palazzo Veneziano for one night; a panoramic suite with an outdoor jacuzzi.

Upon arriving, the check-in staff was so incredibly attentive and kind. They greeted us with smiles and immediately made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

And it was a super comfortable stay, indeed! I absolutely loved my panoramic suite with an outdoor jacuzzi. The decor was very lush with black and gold furnishings, and I loved how the bedroom had sliding doors to separate it from the lounge area. Plus, both the bedroom and lounge areas have separate balconies, so there’s a ton of privacy here if you host friends in your room.

The bed was very comfortable as well, but I have to admit the pillows were a little flat. Offering a couple of pillow densities for different kinds of sleepers would go a long way here. Still, I had a good sleep and woke up with no neck strain or anything like that.

But let’s not bury the lede here; there was a jacuzzi on my balcony, and you bet your bottom dollar I took advantage of that. The jacuzzi took a while to fill up, but it was very relaxing to soak under the stars in Venice.

Because of the jacuzzi, there was no tub in the bathroom, but that was fine by me anyways. There’s a color-changing party light in the bathroom above the shower, though, so bathing at Palazzo Veneziano is an experience no matter what.

I also loved the view from the balcony. From my room, I could see into the Dorsoduro neighborhood. In the morning, while I was having my coffee, I heard the church bells chime and watched birds swoop over the city. It’s very picturesque.

In the morning, we went downstairs to the breakfast buffet, and I have to say – it was really good! There was a wonderful spread of hot items, meat and cheese, pastries, and even yogurt parfaits. If I ever stay at Palazzo Veneziano again, I would totally add the breakfast to my booking.

I also really liked the location of this hotel. It’s located in the Zattere area of Dorsodoro and faces Giudecca across the water. There’s a dock for water taxis right outside, and the water bus station isn’t too far away.

Overall, I’d recommend Palazzo Veneziano to couples or groups of friends looking for a stylish and fun hotel in Dorsoduro. It’s not too far away from the main sites, and you can even book a room with a jacuzzi!

About the Location

Honestly, I think Palazzo Veneziano has a wonderful location in Venice. It has a private water taxi station and isn’t too far from the nearest water bus station, so getting around is super simple.

The hotel is located in the Dorsoduro sestiere (district) and is slightly removed from the crowds that swarm the more central areas. Yet, it’s just a 20-minute walk to St. Mark’s Square, so you really get the best of both worlds.

I think that Dorsoduro is one of the best places for art lovers to stay in Venice, in particular. Here you’ll find the Gallerie dell’Accademia, the Peggy Guggenheim Museum, and the Venice Carnival Museum, among others.

While this location is artsy and there are locals that live here, it should also be noted that Palazzo Veneziano isn’t too far from the Passenger Terminal of the Port of Venice. This is where cruise ships dock, and it means that if you arrive in Venice on a cruise ship, it’s easy to get to this hotel. However, if you don’t arrive on a cruise ship, it means that this area can get really busy when ships do dock.
